7.00 PM Thursday 15 April 2021

As part of the annual board appointment cycle, the Franklin Basketball Association Board is seeking three (3) Appointed Board members and two (2) Elected Board members. When applying please indicate if you are applying for Appointed, Elected or Both.

About Us

The purpose of Franklin Basketball is to provide basketball opportunities within the Franklin community. We want to provide opportunities to develop players, coaches, referees, score bench personnel and/or administration support. Franklin Basketball aspires to continue its growth in the quantity and quality of players, referees and coaches so that we can continue to be the largest and most successful basketball Association within the Auckland zone. 


Person Specification

Relevant factors that will be taken into consideration as a whole : 

  • Prior experience as a director, trustee or experience in any other governance role.
  • Knowledge of, and experience in, the sport of basketball generally.
  • Occupational skills, abilities and experience.
  • Knowledge of, and experience in, community, sports and/or not-for-profit organisations.
  • Wide range of skills and experience including commerce, finance, marketing, law and business.
  • Diversity.

 
Time Commitment and Term: 

Meetings are held monthly. There may also be some sub-committee work. 

The roles will commence immediately after the Annual General Meeting on 15 April 2021. 

Appointed Board Members – three (3) years commencing at the conclusion of the AGM at which their appointment is made and expiring at the conclusion of the third AGM after their appointment (subject to Rule 17.10 for Appointed Board Members). 

Elected Board Members – two (2) years commencing at the conclusion of the AGM at which their appointment is made and expiring at the conclusion of the second AGM after their appointment (subject to Rule 17.10 for Elected Board Members).
